‘Student Launch’: A Peer-to-Peer Business Incubator for High School Students

Now that I’m back at school for the year, I realize we have a valuable opportunity to foster a purpose-driven entrepreneurial mindset and create more business growth right in our student community. This, in turn, will build bridges to have a positive impact on our broader community. Introducing ‘Student Launch’: a peer-to-peer business incubator for high school students. We network, brainstorm ideas, and encourage each other’s creativity. Magic happens in collaboration.

Motivation for the club

If launching a social media driven e-commerce business over the summer has taught me anything it is that I have both much to share and much to learn. And as we know – we are better in community. I’m sure there are other students involved in this space, or wanting to be. Consequently, launching an entrepreneurship club at school seems a natural next step. I believe this club will be a valuable resource for the school community. And be a lot of fun along the way.

My Columbia University Summer Pre-College Program (a link to my blog article for more details is here) was really effective at reinforcing the benefits of fresh perspectives and new ideas. Above all, no matter how zany or unrealistic they are, they break you out of your own head. They get new creativity flowing. Sometimes we all need a disruptor!

What is ‘Student Launch’

‘Student Launch’ will be a peer-to-peer business incubator for high school students. A weekly meet-up space where entrepreneurially minded students can brainstorm and share start-up and side-hustle ideas.

Future Community Outreach

Building bridges to have a positive impact on our broader community will be a cornerstone of our mission statement. I anticipate growing the club inside my high school this semester and then planning community engagement and outreach going forward from there. This may involve collaboration with other district schools, or free community meetups, to help other students and young people leverage the knowledge we have gained.

Conclusion

To get the ball rolling, I am speaking with a couple of motivated peers about making up the rest of the Board with me. I’m also looking for a teacher to sponsor us. I’m excited to grow our membership and start spreading Gen Z hustle-culture!
